Hi folks. After a year of trouble free ownership, my 2018 C14 Touring is not well. A check engine light has come on, the bike now takes three or four tries to start (any touch of the throttle kills it) and, once running, it's not as smooth as it was. Mileage is only 8k so shouldn't be any service related item but I did get caught recently by the fuel gauge showing one bar of fuel remaining but running empty - possible dirt in bottom of tank blocking fuel filter?

Might be co-incidence but I also noticed what looked like a slight weep of fuel by the filler cap surround when I washed the bike. Some backpressure building up? It seems to be around where the fuel level sensor sits.

I can do basic mechanics but don't have software to see what the CEL code is. Before I jump in and start with checking the fuel filter, could someone with a bit more mechanical know how than me give some advice?

Thanks in advance!

Get it over to the folks at Seacoast in Derry. You can get codes from the dash display.

Listen to John. Search and read.
Oil level and demand sensor, RBW throttle connection are occasionally problematic on the 1400s. All we can be of help with here without seeing it in person.
