Yesterday I fired up my 2015 Griso SE and it started making a horrendous valve train rattle. I shut it off instantly and have pulled the right side cam box to find the exhaust roller cam follower has come apart . The cause is that the alignment pins are nowhere to be seen in both followers and the exhaust one had turned sideways in the bore and the roller is worn away drooping the bearing pins into the head . Needless to say the cam is also knackered . I’m assuming the left head will be heading the same way . Clearly someone has been messing about in there at some point unless the pins have been missing since new . Unlikely it would have lasted 20,000 km if that was the case .
So can I get a set of cams and followers ? If so where do I start looking ? Or what are the alternatives ? Thanks folks image.webpimage.webp

Contact your nearest dealer. Those are most likely factory only parts. It may also be necessary to do an engine flush to remove metal contamination.

I would think the bike had the wrong oil in it or maybe no oil for a time. Never seen that failure. Not saying it couldn't happen. Only other thing would be oil pump pressure.

The problem is the missing guides on the followers that prevent them from rotating in the bores in the cam box . Don’t know why they aren’t there but the damage is done now . Need to source cams and new followers

Mark, parts might be available, but best bet is likely to buy the kit linked below. Probably the most cost effective. If you want parts, email via the GTM site below.
