Dreaded ECU disconnected warning

Wes, search is critical here. We (collectively) answer questions like this repetitively and it's exhausting. A simple search below yields the result in 1 second. The first post of the thread lost the images, but a few posts down shows it. Left side fairing. Also, it's CRITICAL to READ THIS post.

ECU location and removal

Thanks to Al for the words and pics... 1. Disconnect the negative lead of the battery. Options are remove the right side body work (a real pain) or work patiently from above and below to remove the ECU with the body work in place (less time and difficulty but you still need lots of patience)...
