Hello, have a Breva 1100 that makes a scraping/dry bering noise when decellerating on engine brake.

The sound goes away if i pull the clutch or give it a litte throttle.
Hard to pinpoint excatly where the noise is coming from, my guess is gearbox, driveshaft or carc unit.

Any ideas on what might be the cause?

Sounds like this are about impossible to diagnose via the internet. May be a gearbox thrust bearing/washer that when you remove the force goes quiet. There are several spacing washers on the clutch shaft and previous 6 speeds had issues with these, but I thought that was solved with the new 6 speed.

Wouldn´t i hear a sound also when driving normally then, because its pretty loud. Could a failing u-joint on driveshaft be the case?
i may probably have to try to record a video of the issue i think.

Actually could be any of these. Can't tell sitting at my computer. I just made an educated guess. Also one of the shafts in the geabox "floats" so on acceleration it is pushed in one direction, and on deceleration the other direction.

i appreciate all the tips that you give i found a video of a guzzi on dyno i think this maybe the sound im hearing. 1.07min in the video ( loud grinding noise before he pulls the clutch) Educated guess on that?

Thanks.

So let me get this straight...

From a dyno run video of another motorcycle, you want us to hear some obscure noise, that is supposed to sound like the noise you are hearing on your bike, and then give an educated opinion as to what is wrong with your motorcycle?

Seriously?

What you are asking is absolutely impossible for any mechanic to do. Period.

I’m sorry but sometimes, you have to pony up, take the bike to a competent mechanic, and pay to have it diagnosed and repaired. This is one of those times.

Otherwise, we might as well just consult the Magic 8 Ball oracle...
