Hi Guys..........just acquired a 2009 Stelvio with 18k miles on it. I appreciate this "everything to know" list for sure, but I'm wondering if perhaps someone can add some tips / tricks to dealing with the alarm system. Even my dealer doesn't know how to set both my keys to work. So far I can only start the bike with the key fob button...........seems like I should be able to just turn a key (they do seem to have a chip in them). Past lurking here led me to a thread (I don't remember where) where someone else was frustrated with the alarm and just wanted to remove it. I have to admit I can sympathize. I live in a semi rural area and security is never an issue. My 61 yo eyes, even with readers, cannot see the diagram of "key on, key off" pictorials well enough. Any advice ? Or where in the forum to look ?
Otherwise I really enjoy the bike. Apparently I need to do some homework and find out if I have roller tappets, an A5 or A8, and do some water-proofing of electrical components. Previous owner was very conscientious and wrote down all valve adjustments, oil changes etc.
I should mention I also have a Triumph Thunderbird (2010). Both the "guzzi" and the "bird" have the same rattly whine at speed, which I consider normal after reading other biker's posts.
