Mods so far ... having opened up the airbox and installed pcv, autotune, ECU reflash.
Now what would be if I got rid off the catalytic converter box, using a y-pipe (interference pipe) but still using the original muffler. Would there be a change in performance and sound, if so to the better or worse? Anyone tried that?

I've removed the CAT with one of Todd pipes. The bike is a little more robust sound wise, but not much more than stock. The big advantage is getting rid of all the heat from the CAT.

Thanks John, so it'd be a valid option for a step by step upgrade as money allows. When it comes to mufflers I feel it's a gamble of a sort. Reading the blahblah about how much better the engine will perform with muffler xy from zz costing ££££. I'm sitting in the dark - how would I know whether this holds true and how would I know whether the sound's to my liking, untill I bought it and tried it out. Bit too expensive for trial and error. But I would like it to be a bit louder as I can't hear properly with that helmet, but I don't need it embarrassingly loud.

Todd has a range of pipes and mufflers that fit. You already have the front end and ECU sorted, so work on the back end to get things happening. I purchased one of Todd's Reverse Cone Megaphones earlier this year - love it - very unique sound. Todd will also assist with mapping to this pipe with all the gear you have already.

Yes Tony, Im sure Todd has some great gear, but first I will need to do some ££ saving before I can afford that.:sweating: But in the moment I am on the suspension upgrade front and back - that drained my pocket well.
