Fuel filters on a V65

While I was trying to diagnose the poor running on my GT (which turned out to be the air filter) I yanked the fuel taps / petcocks only to find the expected filters missing. I have obtained two new taps that include mesh filters but down here in Oz you'll occasionally cop a tank of absolute garbage, so does anybody run more filtration after the taps?

I'm thinking of getting a couple of small in-line filters but a bit concerned about the fuel flow with extra filters in the system.

Yes, many have done that for decades on older bikes. Buy the clear type with metallic looking media. Flow is no issue.

I found the missing filters, whoever painted the tank snapped them off the taps and then painted over them! Mongrels.

Will get some more plastic filters with the copper internals just for extra protection thanks @GTM®

From what I see in the first picture, that tank could use a good cleaning.

I got as much rubbish out as I could, it’s flakes of rust and I think POR 15. Could use another clean out I guess.
