Hi Friends,
Looking for some suggestions on where to troubleshoot a fuel problem before I take it to the mechanic.
Have a V7 II Stone. 2016 - 45000km
Just recently started having fuel problems, like the bike is not getting enough fuel when accelerating.
Starts fine from cold, but warming up it’s a bit rough. Once out and accelerating up the road, power will drop like it’s not getting enough fuel. Then it kicks back in and takes off again. Cruising at the same speed seems finds fine but then drops in power and again kicks in with fuel and takes off again.
I don’t thinking it’s a blocked fuel injector because it goes, and it is getting fuel.
Could be the fuel injection map, as I do have after market exhausts (Mistral), but I wouldn’t expect the issue of dropping power like it does because of a fuel map. Maybe the O2 sensor(s)? This may explain the injectors suddenly kicking in with more fuel.
Any suggestions on possible causes or ways of troubleshooting the problem would be appreciated.
Cheers
Gerry

Check the fuel pressure. You should have about 3 bar, or 45 psi at the injector. I have seen pressure regulators go bad, and unfortunately they are not a replacement part. Usually defective O2 sensor(s) result in higher fuel consumption.

Start here if you aren't 100% it's a newer all metal version...

Update to close this thread.

@GTM® Thanks for your suggestion. Started with the fuel filter and looks as though that was the problem, the fuel filter and the brown sludge in the fuel tank.
While the filter casing was not ruptured, I would imaging the effectiveness of the filtering ceased with the sludge, resulting in the fuel blockage problem under acceleration. The tank was cleaned out and filter replaced with All metal fuel filter. - Currently working a treat.
Thanks for your kind support in trouble shooting this.
