This past weekend, Two Wheels of Suches hosted both the Georgia Guzzi riders and the Atlanta BMW riders club. Weather was fantastic with crystal clear skies, daytime highs in the low 90's and nights in the 60's. There were about 40 riders from both organizations camped for the weekend along with the usual full house of riders that pass through and stop by on nice weekends. The Moto Guzzi Experience crew was there on invitation of Motoplex Atlanta, a Guzzi/Aprilia dealership with shops in Douglasville and Savannah, GA. They used the occasion to announced their intention to open a new dealership in Blairsville, GA.

The experience crew had about 12 bikes on hand and from what I gathered, this was one of if not the best received demo day they have ever had. Just about every ride was booked and a whole lot of BMW riders and "never before on a Guzzi" riders left saying very positive things. The demo route took us south from Two Wheels on Hwy 60 to Rock Pile Gap and back. Dan, the demo group lead rider led a good pace. The V100 was the bike of choice for this route but not to be outdone, the new 2025 version of the V85 was coming in with some ground peg feelers. That is a phenomenal machine and likely garnered the highest praise of the bikes on hand (there were no Stelvio's available with apparently all press and demo bikes on the West Coast). The improved new V85 with variable valve timing has an incredibly flat torque curve and a deceptively light and responsive feel.

The MG Experience is headed next to Barber Vintage fest. If you get a chance to ride the new V85, do so, you won't be disappointed. 2025 could be breakout year for Piaggo Group machines, at least in the USA as there are several new and or improved bikes in the most popular categories.
