Just got it firing!
In 1977 I lived in Australia and was touring on my Honda CB750 when I met a guy on a newer Guzzi 850 T3. We became friends and swapped bikes for a 'tank of gas' ride. I was surprised at how much I liked his bike, and over the years have never forgotten that ride. So about 5 years ago, I made a special trip to a remote island off the coast of British Columbia, Canada and bought a 1990 California III 1000. It had under 20,000 km on it and the paint looked almost new. I still have it and have recently put an offer on a 2001 1100 California Special. My current Cali III is quirky but charming, it's only irritating fault being an intermittant starter. I have replace both the starter and the battery but the problem persists.
I have 3 other bikes ( a BMW R1200GS, a Honda ST1100, and a BMW K75s) but the Guzzi is simply a characterful, satisfying ride.
I look forward to participating in this forum and hearing gems of wisdom from others in the group.
