Hello,

I had a unlucky short caused by a pinched cable to an installed gear indicator ( worked fine for 1 year than came loose..). I was picking up the rev signal from the right Coil. The short caused the engine to run at 1 Cylinder then the Coils Fuse to blow and stop... Once all fixed, only the left cylinder is firing and the Diag shows a P0352.. Right Coil to positive.

Still not positive about being the coil.. ( I will get a new one anyway), since when I swapped them, the bike did not start.. well it kind of started then died right away with some miss firing! After the swap I got P0351 and P0352 both to High.

Question..

Could have I also damaged the ECU ( which is sending the ground signal ) ??
Again the bike runs fine on 1 cylinder ( the left only ). Swapped the coils the bike does not run, kind of starts and dies and misfires -- so no totally dead.

I tested the coils ohms and did not see an open loop but something like :
Suspected Bad Right Coil:
Primary + -, 0.2 Ohms
Secondary + to HT 3273 Ohms

Good Left Coil:
Primary + -, 0.5 Ohms
Secondary + to HT 3269 Ohms

I also did the service manual test for P0352 to high, and it showed 70mVolts -- not really 0 but close. That says if 0 volts replace the coil.

I did read on this forum that a 'good' coil on Griso should be 0.5 Ohms and 3250 Ohms...
Thanks,
Giuseppe
