Hi everyone, yes its been awhile and my previous thread has been closed and im back for more 😆 So my guzzi V50 mk2 is still not running but there is some good and bad news! So those of you who followed my previous thread there was issues with the carburetors the atomizers was worn and this caused the bike to run extremely rich no matter what you do. I replaced the two atomizers with OEM one's set the carbs to factory settings and started it up. Bad news is it started back firing when even on idle, took it for a ride and only running on right cylinder. Took the plugs out and bam!! Right side plug was running lean ! I am excited because this is the first time ive ever taken out a plug that was not pirch black fouled🤣 so this is good so far on the other hand i found out that the left side is not sparking at all only intermittent backfires and the plug was wet and black. I took a new plug grounded it and no spark on left side took same plug tested on right side and there is spark.

So my question is, what will the symptoms be if i connected the two terminals the wrong way around on the left sides coil? Will it perform poorly or not at all?

I have tested the resistance on the two pickups and they are in spec.

I have yet to swap the two bosch cdi's around to see if the problem shifts..

Are these coils supposed to be bolted/grounded directly to the frame?

Here are the new coils ive picked up with leads and new caps.

Please take it easy on me guys i know we had a rough start on my previous thread. 🙏

The new coils (in your pic) should bolt in same place old ones came from. I've had bad experience with cheap replacement resin coils like these and have melted out a couple (and put in better narrow metal lucas ones that need 'custom' fitting) BUT as John says the CDIs are main weak points....
