Hello, all. I'm new here. I don't own an MG yet. I've been very interested in the 1400 California (series), and then the V85TT, for several years. My situation hasn't lent itself well to acquiring one, partly because the only 1400 I ever got my wife in front of in person she _really_ did not like.
)-:

However, I remain interested and coolly on the prowl. She can't ride any more, so perhaps a change will be possible in the future.

Welcome to the Forum. Where in CA are you? As they age, the 1400s will become very electronically dependent, so best to have someone knowledgeable nearby if you own one. If you're in SoCal, you're in luck. The V85TT has proven to be a very favorable machine, but may be slightly lacking in power/gearing here the Southwest. Enjoy the site.

Thanks! I'm actually in AZ at present. I've updated that from the default.

I have a friend here with a V85TT. He really likes it, but I haven't ridden it.

When you talk about a 1400 becoming "very electronically dependent," what do you mean? Are you saying they'll need lots of electronic diagnostic work? Or that they're prone to electrical (or electronic) troubles as they age, or...?

Very good, and please search the 1400 section for all Q&A. This section is for Introductions only.
