I'm located south of Indianapolis about 40 miles. I recently purchased a 2017 California this is my third Guzzi. In 1977 I purchased my first Guzzi a 850T-3 FB and in 1985 I purchased my dad's 1975 850T after he gave up riding. Both bikes were purchased from Ham's Cycle in Norwalk, CT. I heard years later that Ham had moved his operation to New Hampshire. The picture with two bikes was taken at Dayton Bike Week in 1978 the black was mine the light colored one my dad's. It was a lovely day for a ride the day we left for Dayton in 1978 from Connecticut. If remember correctly a fella by the name of Mike Baldwin rode a Guzzi that year sponsored by Ham's Cycle Shop.
I've had a lot of different bikes over the years but my heart was always with Moto Guzzi. I purchased a used HD TriGlide a couple of year ago because the wife was having difficultly getting on and off the Road King. Didn't take long for both of us to realize that was a mistake and sold it last year. She asked me to give riding a break and if I still felt I wanted to ride in the Spring then I could look for another bike. Since she's pretty much given up on riding I said I'd go back to two wheels and get a Guzzi. I found this California on FB Market Place and the price was right.
Let me introduce Mozzie, we name all our vehicles and she came up with Mozzie after the character on the TV show White Collar. Mo from Moto and zzi from Guzzi. I thought it was perfect as long as we own the bike it will be so named. I wonder if anyone else names their bike?
Look forward to meeting other Guzzi riders from Indiana. Ride Safe! PerryR
