Help Installing Hand Guards

Well I got the oem hand guards today, but I can't figure out how to get them on. The problem is I have the mirrors with the turn signals in them, so there is a wire running through the mirror stem. I try to unscrew the stem, but the wire wraps around it as I do, and there isn't enough wire slack there to get the stem off. Has anyone with turn signals in the mirrors successfully installed the hand guards? Is there some way to disconnect the wire?

I made the mistake to turn the mirrors without realizing that the signal light wires run through them and I spliced the wires  . From what I understand there is a point where you can disconnect the wire. Follow the wire down and try to find where they can be disconnected

Must be under the tank somewhere. I thought I found it but didn't. What a pain in the neck!

Yeah, this is a pretty stupid design flaw. I just cut the wires and installed disconnects.

I'm about ready to go Euro on the turn signals.

The wire disconnect is a pig-tail from where the Euro T/S are mounted. Two-wire plug/disconnect. Easy to find if you look inside the fairing on each side.

What Todd said. Just look up under the front of the fairing on either side. Same wires go to the Euro signals on the fairing.
