Hi. Can anyone give me any tips/tricks/techniques for installing the OEM top box mounting plate on the rear rack of my '22 V85TT?

The issues I'm having relate to access of the bolts and nuts used to affix the mounting plate. There's no room for a socket on the bolts/nuts closest to the seat (I think it's 8mm for the bolts, 10mm for the nuts), and I can't get a secure hold using a combination wrench on them, either. No idea how I'd ever torque them properly.

I tried removing the plastic hood over the brake lights, but that didn't improve access much.

I thought this would be a straightforward bolt-on task, but I'm fearing it might involve more disassembly than I anticipated.

Any and all help is welcome.

Thanks!

Here you can see the front bolt through the hole in the rack, at least I'm hoping it's the same rack. This is the one on my 2020 with the OE rack and boxes from the Adventure model.

Thank you, @Bisbonian ! Your pictures illustrate perfectly the issue I am having: I can access the nuts on the rearmost mounting holes, but that's it. I can't reach the nuts on the forward mounting holes, and I can't fit any tool through the slots or channels on the top of the plate to access the bolt heads. I'm completely stymied. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

I have faith you'll get it sorted, mine was installed at the dealer before I took delivery so I've never had to give it a thought.
