Hello everyone! I'm a new member from Pennsylvania in the USA. After looking at Moto Guzzis for 13 years I finally bought a new 2024 V7 Stone Corsa. I just hit the break-in at 900 miles and I'm waiting for oil and parts to show up in the next day or so. The last couple of weeks have been fantastic, and the bike just kept running better and better as I got through the break-in period. I couldn't be happier with it.
If anyone is interested in my motorcycling history, I started riding at the age of four on a Yamaha PW50, which I raced for a little while. After various other motocross bikes and racing injuries, my first road-legal bike was a Kawasaki KLR 250 at 15. My dad had a couple of early '70s Triumphs that I adored, but they never worked, so we got a 2001 Kawasaki W650 instead. I bought a 2007 Triumph Thruxton right after college, but had to give it up several years ago because my neck didn't like the leaned-over riding position. I had been looking at V7s by then anyway. Life got in the way and I just hadn't gotten around to buying anything until a couple weeks ago.
I did an auto technician program before going to college, and I have spent the last 20+ years wrenching for fun, so I plan on doing all the work on this bike myself. My wife is a motorcycle mechanic at a local dealership, so we should be well covered for tools and know-how. She is currently restoring one of the old Triumphs I mentioned (a '73 Tiger) and after riding it a bit last summer she was really pushing me to get something reliable so we could ride together. She has a 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS in a very pretty emerald green.
