Same. Do not use the plastic connector for leverage. It might be easier to use a rubber safe spray oil on the o-ring and wiggle as stated above already. Now, how is the fuel line removed from the fuel injector?

the wire retainer only needs to be pushed in to remove the connector and just pushed on to reconnect.
Not needed. The newer style plugs have a remove from groove (like you did). The older style "Jr" connectors (below) had a tall wire ring that you pushed down. Much nicer and easier, and likely more expensive which is why Piaggio Guzzi stopped using them.Something that would have been good to know YESTERDAY.
Perfect, wasn't saying your was stored that way, just noting observations we have of those in house that had this issue. Post what the report says. If not the injectors, there has to be an air leak somewhere. My bet is on the injector.
Thank you for posting this, I just spent 2 hours wiggling, twisting and pinching, trying to figure this out. Got mine removed without breaking anything. I had to order a new fuel line assembly this morning ($150) for my 2013 V7 Special after breaking the T connection while trying to remove my fuel tank.Same.
