I recently picked up a 2000 V11 Jackal that sat for 4 years. I cleaned out the tank and installed a new filter. The bike started right up but won't idle and runs rough. New spark plugs also installed. I suspect the injectors need to be pulled and cleaned, anyone have any idea's the best way to do this.

Getting the injectors out of a V11 is a real pain. I found the easiest way with the least risk of damage to the injector o-rings is to remove the throttle bodies as a unit. This requires removal of the tank and air box. The air box is the biggest trouble.

However, since the injectors are passing fuel, I'd try injector cleaner first. http://www.amazon.com/Lucas-Oil-Fuel-In ... em+cleaner May not help, but it could prevent having to tear the bike down.

Hello: In listening to the injector issue, I was hoping that someone can help me with my '93 Daytona injectors - the bike sat for many years on display, I replaced the fuel filter, the pump, and fuel lines but it still will not fire up - I'm assuming it is not passing fuel through the injectors. What is the best way to clear the injectors ? Is there a way of testing the injectors to know that they are passing fuel before reassembly? Thanks.

Well thanks, I was trying not to do all that but I guess I have no choice, thanks again

Here is another way if you’re a little tech savy.

I bought on Amazon this injector cleaner tool.

You need a Gumout or other injector cleaner (pressurized can - no liquid) and two very small/slim alligator clamps (see photo).
With this set up you pulse clean in various pulse intervals to blow out whatever is inside the injectors.
Let mw know if you need more info.

If you send them where we suggested, they are cleaned under pressure, and the spray pattern is tested. The injectors may be passing fuel, but if the spray pattern isn't good the fuel mix won't be correct.

I know John. Might do when I get to fine tuning (valve adjustment, 3,000 mile service etc) but as I was still im the warranty period for the bike until tomorrow, I needed to see if it really runs or whether I give it back.
That why I took the short cut route :)
