ignition lock disassembly (Breva 1200 MY'2008)

Is it possible to detach the mechanical part of the ignition lock from the electric contacts part? I may be forced to replace the ignition lock (the cable is completely burnt, but I am not 100% sure about the contacts in the ignition). The idea is to keep the current key as it also fits all other locks including panniers (don't want to have to ride with multiple keys for different locks). Plus, I could avoid the pain of making the cluster recognize the new key.

Well... actually I could not find a definite answer in this forum (BNS12 Chat&Tech). Maybe I used the wrong keywords.
The parts diagram shows the ignition lock as a monolith part as far as I can see. Only the immobilizer antenna is a separate part. I could not get the lock off the bike (one screw is a shear screw and not easy to access), but maybe I can take out the entire support bracket for the dashboard and deal with the lock when I have it on my workbench.
