Issue with wind deflectors

My buddy traded in his brand new S1000XR because it was too tall and he dropped it twice. As soon as we saw him on it we were like, DUDE!!!!!! That bike is way too tall for you. Turns out he agreed and took a hell of a bath on it. Great bike though!!

Finally got this looked at by the dealer today, but only had time for them to plug it into PADS and try to reinitialize the wings. Both motors are throwing a "blocked" error code, so they are going to have to dive deeper. I'll take it back at the end of the riding season and let them figure it out.

I've looked at this in detail and it hit me. You do realize that the fairing is NOT SYMETRICAL from left to right. It is impossible to be due to one cylinder being in front of the other. You are measuring two different designed body panels that are not mirror images of each other.

Mine works excellent and does the job. The fact that the two wings are slightly different I have chalked up to design, and not a defect.

Out of curiosity, what do yours measure? I believe where I am measuring the fairing is symmetrical and others here have reported the 2.25 on both sides.

They are asymmetrical. The right side is larger than the left. A measuring tape is awkward and unreliable so I used a machinist compass gauge and confirmed that the right is about a quarter inch larger gap.
