Bike was purchased July 2024, by the original owner who had the 900 mile service done by dealer. I buy at 3300 miles. The valve noise finally got my full attention at 4300 mile. Pull cover off wow were they ever loose. Couple not even close. Tappet nuts a variey of tightness. Sorry I didn't measure how far out the clearance's were. Process: My first MG, and apparently a GEN II model, so my Shop Supervisor (U tube) had no current info on a tank loosen. I removed valve covers but reinstall was too questionable for me routing of spark wire under tank. So wanted to lift the tank. A LOT of fiddling figuring out the tank front cover and side cover attachments trying to get the tank "shiftable". I imagine this is new with GEN II since no mention in GEN I valve adjustment vids. Valves sound "normal" now. I have a suzuki DR650 and past BMW R80 so familiar with screw tappets. It was different having no bolt pins or obvious feeling of valve cover "on correctly". It had some float prior to using the three bolts to fasten. Seems the large washered bolts center the valve cover/gasket over the head ok. I started bike over a non staining surface afraid to get a fountain of seepage but ZERO.
