Found some 7/8" stainless steel clamps and put some lights on them. The lights will do red, 3 levels of white, blinking red, white SOS and auto light when it gets dark. These are chargeable and can also put out a charge for a cell phone if necessary. I got the clamps for something else. I am still working on a rear luggage idea, but I can get similar clamps with tie downs that can attach to the seat and panier protectors. It would be similar to soft luggage that can be tied down to these tie down clamps. I may be able to integrate the idea with a helmet securing method. Was really looking for a way to leave the helmet with the bike using hard bags when I park it but I may just use a python lock with a robust soft mesh/material. But these lights will be good so people can see me better at night and if I need light at night to work on the bike or have an accident I have the bright light and the SOS.:)

Just a word of caution if you travel interstate.

Many states, including Ohio, is is illegal to have any red or blue flashing device on your vehicle. Those are reserved exclusively for law enforcement, ambulances and fire departments.

Even the road crews must have yellow flashers for warnings. Red is forbidden.

So please be careful you don’t use those in places it will get you in big trouble. Here, they will impound the vehicle straight away.

Nice setup otherwise! 😄

Same here. We have to show the lights can be controlled (turned off) when not in an emergency. They can be manually set in any of 6 lighting positions depending on situation.
