Hi, I have a 21' 850 Special and love it! However, on the highway it lacks good wind protection for my 66 year old body. The Norge looks like a great bike. Is there a year, or range of years to avoid? Love the Guzzi feel.

Mine is an 07 and runs incredibly..approaching 50,000 Miles. I am older than you and find it very comfortable and manageable. If you get a 2012 or later many of my upgrades are not needed like the bigger windshield and Hli-bars for less lean over, for me. The 2007-2009 2V engine are pretty solid.

See above, with the caveat of possible oil pump failures on ‘07 red Norges. They are rock solid otherwise, outside of some electrical hiccups and demand for a solid battery.
You’ll want at least a 2013+ if you go to the newer more powerful 8V engine with roller lifters. The newer the more refined.

There’s a 2012 Norge in Niagara Falls, ON for $4000 CND on kijiji I was looking at. Perla Blanca like mine was.
The Norge’s engine were all roller tappets after end of May 2012 or so. You check the stamped number on the engine, down near the oil port door.

Would like to go out and get it, but am switching to offroad riding only so to avoid idiots in cars. Best of luck finding your Norge! I fell completely in love wth mine, what a motorcycle.

Wanka: This is the info I found when researching exactly one year ago, info was from a Moto Guzzi enthusiast in Germany:
"Roller tappets and camshafts were introduced toward the middle of 2012. Engine numbers for the changeover point are listed as:
Norge: motor number AA12214, build date 18 April 2012."

Thankyou for all the replies. It is much appreciated. I will keep looking with the info garnered from the people here. I'm in no hurry as I have the 850 Special and the Honda. I can afford to wait for the right one. The knowledge on these forums is invaluable.
Thanks again.
