Iconic Motorbikes is going to be listing a very choice MGS-01 for sale with 105km on her. (I'd wager money the rear main seal is dry rotted and blows out if somebody starts to ride her seriously).
Yes, I would love to own it but I will never pay that kind of money for a non-roadworthy motorcycle. (She sold for $25,000 new, and it will be interesting to see what she fetches now - Regardess, it's out of my league for a toy).
You can only ride it at the track, and unless you live near Willow Springs, Laguna Seca, or another world class track where you could ride it a lot (albeit paying through the nose for track days), what good is it then other than to display it in your living room?
Such a shame this model never became street legal. To me, this should have been the first iteration of the V100 Mandello - a pure sport bike in bodywork just like this - in the style of the late and absolutely greatest motorcycle designer that ever lived, Massimo Tamburini. It would have been stunning.
Perhaps they will still build one like it. Unfortunately, by that time, I will be so old and so decrepit, that I really won't care anymore.
