i have had a chance to go to the mountains a couple of times and ride interstate home.
mods:
carbon canister/tipover delete, sprint air filter, gpr slip on, gtm y pipe, gtm ecu flash, o2 sensor delete, ngk iridium plugs, valve check/adjust, throttle bodies balanced/reset.

mountain riding riding avg speed 53 mph 39 miles to the gallon. low fuel light on @ 230 miles. little less than 1/2 gallon remaining
interstate riding avg speed 73 mph 35.7 miles to the gallon. low fuel light on @ 200 miles. 1/2 gallon remaining.
used premium gas

hope this helps anybody going down this path. thanx again to GTM and everybody that steered me.

I am pretty surprised at these numbers. On my B11, I get closer to 450kms/280 miles of range, routinely, at speeds of around 120-140kph / 80ish mph. It has the full GTM treatment; intake plate, dual wide-band O2 sensors / PCV / auto-tune, and exhaust.

I've never tried, but I'm pretty sure I could do 500kms if it was all highway.

I would have thought the Norge would get more range due to being more aero?

Thanks for the notes. About right for the 8V. It'll drink more when the air temps drop.
I recommend not chasing fuel mileage, and live with how it is as it's what the engine requires to run cool and deliver power.
The full kit is FAR more effective and adjustable than the stock ECU map ever can be.
