Hey all. After a lengthy disassembly a reassembly to replace an alternator and install a new belt on this 2014 California 1400, I'm no further ahead than when I started this journey. In my opinion there must be another component that is not working. I will charge the new battery and take to be load tested. When I started the bike the voltage at the battery was 12.19V, I revved it and no change to the voltage.
Any input would be appreciated,,,, Thanks form Nova Scotia Canada

I think if you do a search ,you'll find there was a wire that was removed from the back of the alternator . I don't remember what the causes of the wire were , also begs a question , did you check all the connections and fuses before you undertook this significant task . I know I did this job on my 2018 Eldorado (Like the handlebar switches ,the alternator is Chinese (not necessarily a bad thing) .

Wire goes to what was going to be a charge light, it will kill alt if you sit around w/key on. I think wire is at the terminal for big wire. Can't remember. There is a service bulletin on it .

Thanks, yes I took care of the (TSB) Technical Service Bulletin cutting the top wire on the 2 wire plug that goes to the back of the alternator,,, THX

Concerning the alternator on my 2018 Eldorado, it still had the part number and country of origin on it . When I was struggling to get the thing replaced under warranty I started searching . That exact part number (and alternator) came up , delivered to my address it was going for ~$212 .00 Canadian (peso) . The original was finally delivered to the dealer ,( paper work with it showed it as ~$680.00 dealer cost and retail to be around $1100.00 in Canada) , I replaced it myself ( I knew and previously worked with the service manager), that allowed him to collect the warranty payment and I had the peace of mind to know there were no shortcuts in it's replacement . I gotta say I didn't think it would be such an undertaking .

I'd do a voltage check at the alternator. Thick wire that goes to the stud should have battery voltage all the time, small wire at the plug in connector should have battery voltage when the key is on. 40 Amp plug in fuse near battery has been known to burn up due to poor connection, may be cause of your problem.

If you scroll through the MENU window it will give you a charging voltage read out. Should be around 14V, a bit lower at idle, and as Frank said check the 40A fuse.
