New headlight bulb

I think you have a 40/45W lamp in there, be aware that increasing the wattage will increase the current drawn and could damage the wiring and switches and possibly melt the bulb holder. You could of course swap the complete unit over to a purpose built LED asembly. If you just replace the filament bulb with a LED lamp it is not very satisfactory as the LED does not sit in the correct focal point of the reflector and you will be disappointed.

IF upgrading headlight get some relays fitted to do the switching as the standard handlebar switches will not like the extra load. Eastern Beaver does some good plug in relay and wiring kits.

I think the french company you are refering to is LEDperf..... I have one of their headlamps & (some bits of) outer ring from their std shell. It took some 'engineering' to fit in Griso headlamp shell; the light is OK but wouldn't say it's great at lighting the road ahead but it's fine bright to attract driver attention & I like the angel eye style.

Ah ,yes , that's it. I ordered one for my Breva 1100 a few years ago, it was advertised a a direct replacement. The Breva has an oval headlamp so it would have meant loads of work to get their shell to fit. It was well made but I had to return it, got a full refund which was pleasing.

Guys, as noted on the paragraphs above, always try the STORE tab above. The H4 bulb below is WELL proven for most all Guzzi models that use it, with no mods necessary.

Thanks for that hint. The item listed shows a throw to the right on low beam. Can this be adjusted for those of us who ride on the left?

I believe it is the pattern on the headlight lens that determins the direction of throw, not the bulb.

For V65 Florida & V50 Mk3 I'm using these to make it brighter than a std H4.......although TBH I also fitted a cheap ebay LED in the side/running lamp socket in headlight shell & that's so bright I only use the headlamp at night (they are 1985 & 1989 vintage bikes so not hard wired for daylight headlamps even before I changed the switchgear & rewired)

Auxito

Yes - best result (& wish I'd done that with Griso instead of fitting LEDperf complete lamp) because it kept classic looks but boosted light a lot w/out eating current on small block tiny generator output.
