Hello,

I have an '02 California Metal. I enjoy the power very much but I'd like a little more sound out of it. Since I'm not too choosey I was thinking some emgo slip-ons would be a good economical way to accomplish this. Would there be any ECU or fuel injection tuning necessary to safely run these pipes? Or will the bike be able to accomodate the free-er flowing exhaust on its own? I'm concerned about creating a lean running condition. All my other bikes have carbs, which require a simple re-jet but I'm dim when it comes to FI. Thanks for any help.

If you just eliminate the pre muffler under the transmission with an H pipe, that will improve sound. You don't gain much replacing the stock mufflers as back pressure is needed for the engine to run correctly. Start with the H pipe (won't require mapping mods) and see how it goes. If you decide to get more radical, Check the Guzzitech store for exhaust products (good H pipe there). Once you get extreme with the breathing, you will probably need a PC III to keep everything happy.

Steve, welcome to the Forum.

My article here will guide you on mods; https://www.guzzitech.com/tech/perform ... power.html
My crack-proof H-pipe is found here; https://www.guzzitech.com/store/catego ... ornia.html

And for "jetting" you can band-aid this by tweaking the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) with a digital voltmeter, or the VDST Diagnostic Kit I offer here; https://www.guzzitech.com/store/produc ... ay-11.html --OR-- best really to use a Dynojet Power Commander or I can tweak your ECU (re-flash), info found here on either; https://www.guzzitech.com/store/catego ... lated.html

Happy to answer any other questions you have direct e-mail; Todd at GuzziTech.com

Thanks for the help, guys! I'll look into that H pipe. BTW I just noticed I switch motorcycles between the subject and body of my post. For what it's worth I have an '02 metal. Thanks again!
