New to me Stelvio Tire Question

Hey guys,
Just picked up a 2013 Stelvio yesterday that has 3000 miles on it. Like showroom condition. Road it home last night about 100 miles and love it.

Problem is...it's a bit higher than I thought. I've owned two Vstrom 650's, one Vstrom 1000, and an R1200GS. They all have a higher seat height than the Stelvio has in the low setting...at least on paper, and they were fine for me. I realize the Stelvio is kind of wide too. I don't want to cut down the seat or alter the shock. My inseam is right about 30" with my riding boots on.

Here's my question...
The previous owner installed Heidenau Scout K60 Tires...150/70-17 rear and 110/80-19 front. I know I may be reaching for straws here, but is there a chance that these could have raised the bike up at all? Seems like they have some fairly large knobs. Wondering if going to street tires would help.

Also, the fork tubes right now are up 13mm from the top of the tree. Can they be raised more...and how much is safe? I realize it'll change the geometry and steering a bit.

Thanks!
Russ

Hi Russ, congrats and welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia. Hope you'll add your info to the Registry with a pic or two as well; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/stelvio-registry-pics-thread-add-your-bike.11540/

Certainly a knobby tire would likely increase the seat height, sure. You can usually grab measurements to compare from the tire websites.

You can drop up to 25mm on the forks without any concerns, even up to 35mm. I can have a shorter rear shock made if you want as well; https://gtmotocycles.com/collections/suspension/model_stelvio?sort_by=best-selling

I have a second wheelset I had made for mine with a 3.5x18 front, and 5.5x17 rear with low profile road tires = love it. I run my Stelvio mostly this way as it sees very little unpaved surfaces... I have real dirt bikes for that.

Unfortunately, all of the 150/70-17's I've been finding have the same circumference as the Heidenau K60 Scouts...1939. Makes sense I guess considering the fact that you'd probably have speedo error if they were different.

Yeah...I guess it would just throw the speedo off a bit. The way this thing runs on the highway, I doubt RPM's are going to be an issue. Heck, it just starts to smooth out at around 4500...and in top gear that's around 80 mph...LOL.

Flip the four rubbers under the seat. I forget which way they need to be for lowest/highest level seat, tilted forward or backward. I believe it's about an inch difference.
