New to the world of Guzzi

Greetings from Aurora, Illinois, USA. I just joined the club of Moto Guzzi owners last week with my purchase of a 2003 California Special Sport. It needs a bit of work adding some missing parts and replacing worn ones, but I am happy with it so far! I come from a 2012 Suzuki V-Strom 650, so definitely a change in bike type, but I started my motorcycling career on my mom's 2003 Harley Davidson Road King (I know right?!).

Anyways, I look forward to all the knowledge this forum has to offer! Lastly, a picture of the new-to-me California.

Then I honestly have no idea which version of 2003 California it is then. That is just what the previous owner told me. I have been trying to get a definitive answer for a few days now looking up the VIN and searching the internet with little luck. I did confirm it was a 2003 though, and the PO said he had the recall done for the hydraulic lifters.

Dead give away is the valve covers and the hydraulic lifters. It would be an Aluminum per below. I added my link above and again for you HERE as to what I did with mine. If you post a photo of the rear fender it will further confirm. It would be a 2003 model year. The VIN# will tell us. Look forward to your VIN# and related on the Registry.
