Hi, I am new to the forum and new to Moto Guzzi, having recently purchased a V100 Mandello. Having ridden BMW Boxers for years I have been very impressed by the bike and recently completed a 2,200 mile trip to the South of France and back, where it excelled. It has proved surprisingly comfortable for upwards of five hours in the saddle (I am 6'2" tall) each day, and the factory panniers have worked well for me. The mounting system for the panniers is simple and unobtrusive.
I do have one question.... the personal code. Whenever I turn on the ignition the set personal code message comes up for 10s and then disappears. I was not sure how to set it but have tries going through the service menu to "change user code". I have followed the instructions and set a new code, rather than the factory 00000. However, whenever I turn on the ignition I still get the 10s set personal code message which suggests that the computer has not memorised the new code.. Have I set a new code or not? I do not know. Has anyone else experienced this? I had expected the message to have disappeared.
Mike
