Grinch
Just got it firing!
Evening all. I am the extremely proud custodian of a Moto Guzzi V7ii Stone, which I have already fallen for after a week of riding.
Not a glamorous motorcycling history...
First bike (if you can call it that) was an orange Honda Gyro X that I used to bomb around with in Corfu when I lived out there.
A hilarious 50cc 2 stroke 3-wheeler...
Upgraded to a Honda Cub 90, which was perfect for small island travel on the cheap.
Years later & living back in the UK I decided to go legal: Got my CBT & bombed about on a shocking condition Chinese 125cc bike before taking my big bike test about 8 years ago, now.
Spent 7 years on a Honda NTV650 (naked version) which is when I learned the joys of having a shaft drive, especially after the Chinese bike which needed chain adjustment almost every fortnight...
I had test-ridden a Moto Guzzi V7ii some years ago & found the whole test ride hilarious & smile provoking. The engine configuration, handling & character just fascinated me. Sadly I didn't have the funds to upgrade from the NTV at the time.
The NTV was my daily ride, packhorse & essential travel until it was stolen one night a year ago.
Ended up with a Kawasaki ER5 just to stay mobile, but it was such a bland thing...
I ended up browsing eBay, looking at Moto Guzzis of various years. Kept going back to the V7s...
Came across Bella (christened by previous owner) & fell in love... Beautifully maintained by the owner, tastefully upgraded with everything I would have done myself on such a bike.
Zard exhaust, custom paint job on the tank, rear rack, centre stand, LED Headlight upgrade, even running Bridgestone tyres which I always used to fit to my NTV... Previous owner was an absolute gentleman & gave me loads of helpful advice about maintenance & care.
I've spent this past week riding her every chance I could & she's been an absolute delight.
Looking forward to looking after this bike for years to come.
