I was browsing through e-bay and came across a very nice 1997 centauro for sale and noticed on the Valve cover OHC-4V. Obviously Guzzi had the ability and tech 12 yrs. ago, what happened? why is this product not available in the majority of their motors today? Is it not the logical progression of technology?...... Just wondering is all.

Bob,
The 4 valve motors didn`t sell that well and conversely, not alot were produced by the mid 90`s. They were a very expensive motorcycle for their time especially when compared to the latest offerings from the other Marques. A bit more complicated than the 2 valvers , many Guzzi folks simply preferred the less expensive tried and tested two valvers. The 1100 Sports at the time werent much slower at all. I dont think they were a money maker for Moto Guzzi.... It is appearing that the 4 valve motor may soon become the predominant big block motor offered by Moto Guzzi in the future. Aside from a few issues, oil pump wear etc, the Centauro is a very comfortable and competent Hot Rod . Bill
