Just got it firing!
Hello everyone.
Almost a year ago I've bought my 1st vintage Guzzi - a 1989 Mille GT with low mileage (a little bit under 25.000 kilometers). So far, I've put on it another 3000 kilometers, but with frequent ignition failures that brought me back home on a trailer TWICE. :-/
There seems to be an issue with "brand new" capacitors that are in fact a new old stock, and maybe they loose quality in time. This is the most likely conclusion od "council of elders" at my vintage vehicle club. )
I have conversion to an electronic ignition in my mind, it could happend soon, but... A friend of mine is persuading me to try an old style electronic transistorised ignition which are installed instead of capacitors, but along with the contact breakers.
Does anyone have experience with this?
