Pannier lock removal

I’ve done 500 BMW case sets and I intend to create one specific to our Moto Guzzi V100’s upon my return from Europe,

EDITED AS I WAS MISTAKEN BASED UPON INCORRECT INFORMATION I HAD BEEN GIVEN.

APOLOGIES!

but I believe this BMW guide contains photos and descriptions that are applicable all the same.

You heed to establish how to reach that locking tab.

I haven’t had a chance yet to work with my new bags.

There's nothing to it: you remove the small Phillips head screw, then the holding nut, and the whole thing separates. Just keep track of the order in which the different washers go.

Well, this caused me to re-evaluate what I had been erroneously told by a dealer.

These photos show the component pieces which are different from what I was told.

Hmm, I will investigate them further when i get home.

We need a complete re-keying guide so I will make one.

I have the factory panniers on my V100 and have a faulty lock on one of them. I have managed to get the lid open, does anyone know how to remove the lock barrel?
Hi seahorse, I’ve just finished assembling the panniers locks, there are 2 lots of 4 screws inside the outer shell of the pannier and 2 screws on the inside edge adjacent to the handle that need to be removed. This allows for the section to be removed and gain access to lock.
Not sure if the photo helps.

I have the same panniers and the locks came separate. You have to orient the locks so when you turn the key to lock them the key slot is oriented perpendicular to the bike frame.
