I must be thick but I have been looking for this for nearly an hour now. Cant find anything on the web about it either.

Where is the OBD-II plug? I have a program to reset the TPS but need a lead and want to make sure I'm getting the right one (and that I know where to stick it!).

Hi GuzziHero,

I think it's the same plug as on my G12.
It's on the right side in the middle under the seat.
Look for a black waterproof thing.

If you can't find it, I'll make a picture of it.

Question to you.
Is it an official OBD-II plug?

Hi GuzziHero,

It is located under the seat next to the fuse box, the black one in the photo below.

By the way, the IAW-5AM ECU and diagnostic plug on our bike is not OBD-II compliant

Phang

here are a few pictures.

Now you must find it.

GuzziHero,

Sorry mate, I am not sure as I don’t own a Ducati.

Ad B, I can reach GuzziTech server faster than you via the Pacific route

What interface/software are you hoping will do the job?

Hi GuzziHero,

Is there a Ducati dealer in your neighbourhood?
The are quite some Ducati models who have also the Magneti Marelli IAW 5AM ECU.
And when I take a look at this German site, they sell the VDSTS Standard equipment by ECU model.
This site:
http://www.befaster.de/webshop/index.ph ... 6116af70d8
That's why I think you can do it also with a "Ducati thing"...

But when I look at the cable from your French site, I think thát's an official OBD-II plug.

I will look for a Ducati dealer. My local one close a few years back.

I have found an OBD plug for £42, but then that needs another cable which is £30, and I may as well buy a VDSTS!

Time for a Ducati dealer hunt.

While we are on the topic, anyone know the K-Line of IAW-5AM ECU is ISO 9141-2 compliant :?:

Okay. Current local Ducati dealer says that the Ducati setup cannot adjust Guzzis - he says Ducatis do not use Magnetti Marelli 5AM ECUs. Damn.

Once again, I can confirm that D&K Motorcycles are firkin useless. Some Ducatis DO use 5AM, and they just can't be arsed.

THis is the shop where I asked for some work done on a Guzzi V50 (they were Guzzi dealers at the time) and they said "We don't work on any bikes that old".

I have found a place which should be able to set it for me. Nice ride out, too!

GuzziHero,

can you read your "French connection" ?
I can't. I can't speak or read French,
I only can buy gasoline, beer, coffee, bread and other stuff to survival through the holidays...
But I found a Dutch translation on the Forum from the Dutch Moto Guzzi club.
That's interesting for me.
I've send you (GuzziHero) a PM.
Maybe I am going to struggle with it.

If you download and install the software, it has a bunch of language options :) Getting the plug however... you may as well buy VDSTS!

That does indeed appear to be the droid I am looking for. A fetching colour, too!

If this local-ish dealer in Wrecsam can do it, I'll take it there, if not I will make one.

Ad B - the PM notifications aren't working at present. You need to click the PM button under a user's name, then to go Inbox :)

GuzziHero, I'm sure Todd would be more than happy to set you up with a VDST and you can't ask for a better/or more helpful guy to deal with. Setting the TPS with it is easy and it works a treat. For the cost of going to an idiot dealer and trying to get them to actually do what you need ... the VDST would pay for itself probably in one visit. Then you will be free from the idiots that don't listen or do what they are supposed to.I recommend this course highly.

That e-bay link looks like the plug that is the throttle position sensor - i.e the thing that connects to the potentiometer on the top of the throttle body. It's not the thing that you plug into to reset the TPS (i.e. the thing the VDST connects to under the seat).

Having just bought a VDST off Todd, I'd agree it's the easiest, least painful route. You then have it for ever more, and don't need to trek off to some beligerent dealer who may or may not be in the mood to help you out.

And if you're ever kicking around Sandhurst in Berkshire, stop by and you can have a reset on the house.

Sadly, I am in Stoke-on-Trent which is as far away from civilisation as is possible.

I've just spent £340 on a Y pipe and O2 optimiser... can't afford to spend what a VDSTS would cost, right now.
