It may be answered somehwere, here already - but I cannot find it..

Does anyone know if a 170/60/17" can be fitted on the 2012 NTX spoked 4.5" rim?
*replacing the standard 150/70

I think width clearance should be ok, and diameter should reduce 170/60=102mm, 150/70=105mm - I'm concerned that the tyre will hold in the rim.

thanks,

A 170 technically needs a 5.0-5.5" rim. If you can get it to bead, it will reshape the tire making it taller of course.
What tire are you looking to mount?

Well, for the record.. At the tyre shop today the owner there was very helpful, and also inquisitive how the 170 would go, so fitted the 170/60 PR4 GT on the Stelvio's 'rim. It went on nicely, and fitted fine, but, the shoulder of the tyre was pulled down a bit, and just a little odd, giving the tyre a taller and rounder profile than desirable. Decided to abandon the idea and went with the PR4 Standard 150/70 again.
(FWIW, a sticker on the new tyre mentioned 325kg (the GT had 355kg). With the Stelvio weighing in at 300kg on its own, and add another 100+ for me and luggage and fuel.... Not sure what that rating means - presumably as total weight is distributed over two wheels, then probably ok...)
