I have been rebuilding a project bike over the winter and many parts have been rebuilt.
Inc, diff unit, wheels etc.
the problem recently found was that the rear wheel does not locate properly in the diff box and leaves a 1/4 inc gap ?
I should mention that the diff box is from a mk2 le mans and the wheel is a rebuilt T3 wire wheel hub.
the spline on the new T3 hub and original cast wheel look exactly the same ?
But the wheel doesnt locate properly and while it goes on, it leaves a big gap between the wheel hub and the drive box (about 1/4 inch)
It does need to sit further into the drive box because the wheel is out of alingment with the frame . (it sits too far to the left)
The only thing I can see that could cause the fitting problem is a spacer that is part of the drive box protruding too far and not allowing the wheel to locate further into the drive box ?
Has anyone any experience of a problem like this ?
Are T3 wire wheel hubs interchangeable with the drive boxes from other models ?
Any advice appreciated ?
