I must have missed something, here. I just received my new knurled lock replacement doo-hickey, and I'll be darned if I see how it's going to fit/work. When I punch in 'replace the internals' into the search, all I get is postings from this thread. Any help advice would be appreciated. I intended to head off trouble on the gas cap for a '21 V7 850.

@artkodiak -- Wish you had written us prior to ordering. The most important part of the wording there is "(Per the photo) These fit nearly ALL early model lift-out keyed cap Cal 1100 Guzzi, up to pre-'17 V7s and 1400s."
They were not made for the screw-on/off caps on the V7 III/V9 and newer. I've revised the text to reflect this.

Ahhh.... I guess that explains my confusion. Is there a replacement cap available yet that can eliminate the key/lock feature?

We were selling a flush cap, but those dried up from our distributor. Most newer Triumph Bonneville caps should fit and work.
Again, this is best via email as it's near impossible for me to catch every post here.

Further to Todd’s comment I can confirm that the newer triumph bonneville fuel caps do fit the V7 850 and seem to be issue free after a first 100 mile ride,no leaks etc.

How about a pic and a part # seeing as the store can't get the old one anymore.
Here are a few pics, don’t know the part number as I bought it used off eBay but it is a genuine one and I have been assured that all late bonneville caps are the same. It’s still one that tightens until it clicks just without the key and appears to have some sort of pressure blow off valve in it?

I fit a screw on cap from the brand Motone that were made for Bonneville’s on my ‘22 V7 and it fit perfectly. Had no problems with it at all.

I used a Motone Bonneville "Monza" flip top cap on my V7III. Perfect fit and function. No key lock and you'll never drop it on the paint.

I like the Monza cap. I just ordered a 'pop-up' from British Customs for my '21 V7, as I like the flush fit under a tank bag (although I really dig the retro look of a Monza)
