Replacing bulb in instrument cluster - 1997 Cali 1100i

One of the indicator bulbs has stopped flashing on the instrument cluster although the indicator works fine.

I assume this is a bulb gone rather than a fault elsewhere.

It isn't obvious how to get to the bulbs. Does the squarish front plate just lever off gently or is there a need for dismantling to get behind it?

Any advice appreciated.

If memory serves me correctly, the bulbs are changed from the back. If you pry off the color plastic plate you break the bulb holder. Take a look at a parts book to get an idea of how it comes apart.
 
My memory tells me it has to be twisted slightly before it can be removed. Can't remember which direction, but not hard to work out.

Edit: That's the bulb holder I'm referring to. The bulb itself just pulls out.
