Hi guys new to the forum. I'm coming from a Super Tenere 1200 but found that characteristics of the bike was pretty dull and I didn't have the urge to ride it as much as I thought I would. I think it was because of the very tall seat height for my 5'6" stature. It was just too big of a bike for me and sport mode was basically unusable so I kept it in touring. The Griso initially grabbed my eye but I feel that I would find myself in the same spot. That's when I started looking at the V7 Special. I love the way it looks and with a Mistaral or Agostini exhaust the bike sounds awesome. I'm looking to test drive one in a few months but until then has anyone ridden both bikes and could give a comparison. I hear a lot about he V7's characteristics being great and watching to the videos about the bike it seems like it's an easy rider that everyone seems to get a long with. What is it like to daily drive and am I correct to assume it can tackle the weekend camping trip just fine. Additional information about pillion rider feedback is also appreciated. I mostly ride on the rolling hills of the Midwest with the occasional twisty roads. Thanks!

I'm 5'7"+ and have a V7 III with GTM parts. The Matris suspension is important and I really like it. I have GTM pipes and the 820cc engine conversion. A bunch of other stuff too. It's a hoot!
BTW, I recently demo'd a new Super Ten and liked it but the wired throttle was something to get used to perhaps. You'd flip if you rode a tuned V7. It's like a little flat tracker on the street. I ride it pretty quickly and live in the mountains on great SoCal roads so YRMV.

I was able to get on a 2023 V7 Stone Special Edition, while I was on vacation in Austria. I was able to take it to a few scenic places around Salzburg and it was everything I was hoping it would be. It had plenty of power to pass with two up and the handling felt concise. I never felt it wanting to lean more or the engine pull in or out of the turn. I felt planted going through the switchbacks and never felt like i had to put my weight too far forward when we got into spirited riding. It was a relaxed feeling but not dull. The rumble of the engine was noticeable between 2.5k-3.8k RPM in both my feet and my hands but never got to a point where it was bothersome. I rode a 800 scrambler prior to the guzzi, the ducati was more happy to dive into to the turns and get up to speed a little faster, but the smooth power delivery of the guzzi is preferred. The pillion from the guzzi has more room as well but my wife complained that it was a little wide. The scrambler was cramped compared to the v7, I was constantly trying to make room for her and sitting right on the tank. I thought that I was gonna like the Scramblers exhaust note more, but I found it to drone too much. It was great when you're racing the engine but that's not typically how I ride. The V7's exhaust note helped by the Arrow exhaust had an enjoyable rumble that never seemed to ask for too much attention in the high, mid, or low revs.

I've seen some rumors of an V850x coming, so I'll wait and see what they announce in the coming year before pulling the trigger.Cropped_V7.jpg
