Hello folks

I get squeaking from somewhere in the exhaust system mostly 2k-2.5k rpm under throttle. I think it might be the heat shields. Had it with the original MG exhaust but also now on my Agostinies. Tightened bolts etc but to no avail. Any remedies?

Noises are nearly impossible to diagnose via the net... But I'd start with just checking to see where/if there is any metal to metal contact. Assuming it is on the rear covers(?). The front has a fiberous washer on the very front mount. All the rest are spacer clips. Perhaps just pushing on them will let you know where the noise may be coming from.

Todd, I discovered that the small heat shield (right exhaust) touches the right foot board / break pedal. For some reason the right exhaust pipe gets very close to the break pedal and my heat shield was touching the lower part of the break pedal. I fixed it by bending the heat shield's lower front corner inwards (away) from the break pedal, see pics attached.

Very good... thanks for posting. That front heat shield stud should have a fibrous washer under it, which may be why it was touching. I highly recommend red loctite on that bolt, and keep an eye on that stud for cracking around the weld.
