Hi all,
Have seen some of the harleys have got grease nipples on steering head. I was told they are done by the factory. Has anyone tried it? I am about to pull the steering head on my v7 2016 and wondering if I should put a grease nipple on to avoid the hassle for next time. However I don't know what the harley davidson steering assembly looks like and what works for it may not work for guzzi. Also how would it pack the grease in to the bearing? I assume it tapered roller bearing as most new bikes don't come with old loose bearing anymore. I am just wondering if anyone tried it. Thanks for any feed back.

Guzzi has gone to ball bearings in the steering head on many models. I don't know if the V7 is tapered roller or ball bearing. The Store lists tapered roller replacements. I don't think adding a zerk fitting to the steering head would be a good idea. The grease would flow out and make a significant mess as there are not lip seals on the steering head assembly. New bike tend to not be greased well. I use a good sticky synthetic grease such as Lucas synthetic to lubricate these bearings. Once greased with this grease it is pretty much one and done.
