Hello and thanks for all your contributions here. I just bought a 2014 NTX with leaky breather hoses. Replacements are cute but expensive. What I did to solve my problem, was to use a dormant pvc hose # 46033 from autozone, a 1/2 in hose splice barb connector and a piece of 1/2 in black hose from farm and fleet. The 1/2 in fits the catch tank nipples perfectly and without a fight(wd-40) and are terminated aprox. Mid valve cover. the dorman hose then splices crosswise to the opposite head nipple and fits perfectly (10.5mm dia). All joined with screw hose clamps. problem solved and ziptied at mid frame with attention towards tension on the head nipples and associated cam cover plastic vulnerability.
No luck attaching images. it is called the blow by system

You are talking about the vents like I thought. However, the airbox is not really. “catch tank” as we don’t really want oil up in there and it only happens when the crankcase is overfilled.

No worries. Would like to see photos of your work. They are a pain to properly size and format but they are always the best method for following a discussion.

Were your hoses damaged somehow? Mine are still in perfect shape.

Follow the hoses from cam cover w/crank vent on ea side, it goes to under & behind your steering head in frame triangle. I have done 3 of them same way as this. I used all one size hose and went L to R for the bigger curve so no kinks. Real PIA to get to, No fun.

Scott, these are always problematic in due time on bikes that are ridden hard and often. Mine suffered failure (rot) a few years back. I have an amazing system for my GTM builds that most are NOT willing to pay for on their stock Guzzi. ;)

@Tejas - email the pics to me to; info @guzzitech.com - and I'll post them up for you. Always fun to see garage mechanic's solutions.

Todd - I’m not at your skill level brother but hey, it’s not like I never ride my bikes hard or often, 😝😝😝. (I’m just fastidious about cleaning and maintenance.)

I think I have benefitted on my Stelvio, (and other motorcycles/scooters) and continue to do so, through chemistry.

One of the myriad benefits of PRO Beauty Products, ProShine. Rubber, vinyl, fuel and vacuum lines, and synthetic materials, remain soft, pliable, water and UVR resistant and highly flexible.

And what’s that stuff about “on bikes that are ridden hard and often” Todd 😆😆😆.

In my part of the world in my little pond, I’m still a pretty fast fish, even for an old fat guy! 🥳🥳🥳

I was once a young lion who lived years at Willow Springs, California Speedway and Laguna Seca on track days! 🤠

Yep, I’m much faster than my old body would indicate! 😈😈😈.

😃

I'm not sure if it's the hot dry triple digit temps here as you well know, or just a bad batch of these lines... But as mentioned, we've replaced a big handful of them, including mine on both my '09 and my '13. I use modern braided kevlar lines and CNC fittings now, which we developed for our GTM builds.
