This thread is to collect what folks are doing about the seats.

Seeing photos of the seat had me anxious enough to put off buying till I could ride a bike, which I did last month. The problem for me is not the front seat, but the bump on the rear which ends up right under my tail bone. Dealer would have had to order the heated tall seat so I figured I’d see what I could do and whether I want to pay for that tall seat since on previous bikes I found that I never took advantage of the seat heaters. Fwiw I’m 6 ft and 32” inseam.

Riding without the rear seat is great but we do a lot of 2-up. Had a custom seat for the V85TT and got a bit spoiled. So far I’ve added one of the Amazon gel seats that adds 1.45” with a shallow middle like some of the bicycle seats. It works pretty good and the tail bone is now up enough to be over the protrusion from the rear seat, but you know you are on a pad so it’s not a final solution.

What have others tried?

I’m 5.11 and 32 inseam also. I’ve found the Stelvio seat to be pretty comfortable (giving twice as long before aching as my Multistrada). I do have the heated standard seat which is also labelled comfort, but I don’t think it’s different in comfort to the two other Stelvios I rode. Anyway, I’m from the English short-tailed breed and have no problems with the passenger bump 🤣

I’m sending mine to Russell Day Long. I have a Russell on my BMW. I’ve tried them all and for me there is none better than a Russell seat build.
