Going over my pre-purchase "estimate sheet" for a 2025 Strada with extras. Down to the side/top cases and have a question. I read that the after market cases are better quality than the MG stuff. Is this accurate? When buying after market side/top boxes for the V85, do the respective manufactures provide mounting brackets with their cases OR do their cases fit the Moto Guzzi brackets (maybe with only the addition of the mounting plate for top box)? I think I like the look of the newer MG cases for a street only bike (Strada). I do not like the boxy aluminum off road look. What other "case" education am I possibly missing?

To be clear, I've got an out the door quote for both a Strada and Travel optioned out LIKE I WANT to the same exact "kit" that as they say. Price difference is in favor of the Travel by $475.45. However, I'll never go off road and don't want 5 rider modes nor the corning IMU crap. Just another techno-cool thing that I've never needed up to now and might cost me money if it breaks. So, I lean to the Strada spec'd out like I want it. Suppose I'm really only curious about the pannier questions above.

As alway, thanks in advance.

So per the above, my wrestling is more for my wife's comfort than anything else. I believe that I'm leaning towards the functionality of a removable sissy bar set up like we had on a 2006 Stratoliner (ref attached photo). The backrest was comfortable for her and was removable for when I rode alone. It also provided an attach point for the large soft bag/duffle behind the sissy bar. This set up would be something I could make work. Sissy bar would provide a good backrest for her AND support an attached soft top bag. This would hard side bags might give me what I want.

As always, still interested in your thoughts.
