Hello;

Well, it does take a few minutes (10) to get to full. It jumps to 7/8 and then slowly finds its way to the Full mark... Ofcourse by then the tank isn't full any more... :S

Well, that puts my remark into perspective. It used to take about a minute on mine, (still no more than 5 min. now), and it still jumps to full, rather than crawl.

Heh. Last Sunday, I filled up before at my usual station in my mom's village outside Utrecht before attacking the ride back to Paris, but for once didn't want to bother topping the tank off, so I stopped when the nozzle cut off the fuel flow the 1st time. Didn't even check how much I'd put in, or how far below the max the fuel level was.The gauge went up to full after a couple of min., but then I had the surprise of seeing it starting to go down almost visibly, despite a dash consumption read-out that seemed normal, until it stabilised just above half full around Antwerpen. That got me worried, but in the end I got to my usual cheap half-way service station off the highway in Lille without hassle — I guess the sender or gauge got tricked into thinking I'd done a complete fill-up, only to discover the naked truth while going :)

BTW, I noticed the hole/hose draining liquid from around the tank opening isn't doing its job too well - any suggestions on how to blow it through? I'm kind of tempted to see if that little red tube one can attach to the nozzle of a WD-40 can fits, and give it a squirt ... any particular reasons NOT to go that route?

You're a computer guy, so any of those small compressed air cans should do the trick... just find the other end first to be sure it's not plugged.
