On my bike’s second oil change this metallic bit showed up sticking to the drain plug. Haven’t noticed anything wrong/different with the way it runs or sounds.
I don’t have a Guzzi dealer in my country so it will help me enormously whatever guidance I can get from the forum.
I did see someone else reported something similar they found on a V100; slightly different shrapnel shape to mine.
Thanks!

We made some headway looking for the source of the metal bit found in my engine oil which I reported yesterday.

A better pic of the errant piece and a hair wider than 5 mm.

As the mechanic took off the valve covers to perform valve checks, he noticed the broken bit looked suspiciously similar to a longish positioning plate. When he inspected the RHS cylinder, he saw the incomplete plate where the broken bit came off.

It appears to be a positioning plate to help ensure that as one tightens the valve cover, it aids ensuring correct placement of the valve cover. My best guess anyhow…
I was unable to find the part number in the Workshop manual and in the Spare Parts catalogue I consulted at Cadre Cycle’s website.
Appears that this positioning plate got its anchoring lip weakened due to a faulty assembly, and later cracked and fell into the oil bath with multiple temp cycles and the working vibrations. Sound plausible?

At any rate, I am overjoyed the damage isn’t more complex/expensive/laborious than replacing that small part.
Thanks for any further insight from you guys on the forum.
