My bike wouldn't start this morning, the dash was totally dead, even the flashing alarm LED was off. Checked the usual suspects, battery, connectors, fuses under the pillion seat, all ok. I thought the dash plug had fallen off or faulty ign switch, but I couldn't raise the screen due to no power. Also highly unlikely. I tested the 40A main fuse under the seat, all OK. Then I saw a 30A fuse under an orange cover, that was very difficult to expose, I managed to pull off the 4 pin plug and the fuse tested ok in situ. I couldn't get the fuse out and noticed the orange cover had some heat damage. To get access to the unit out which turned out to be the starter relay I had to remove the ECU and holder as its such a tight fit. I could then get an allen key wrench onto the + battery cable and remove the relay. The fuse was melted into the holder. A new part 1D001697R is on order from my dealer, its only a year old so hopefully they will cover its cost. This is definitely not a roadside fix, I was fortunate it happened at home. Will let you know when its sorted.

Yeow! That is unfortunate! Just curious if the bike was on a charger? I certainly think warranty applies - that is fried🔥😕. Good luck - glad you diagnosed it👍.

The bike was not on a charger and even if it was it wouldn't cause this damage, looking at the circuit diagram the 30A fuse feeds power to all 7 fuses in fuse block 1 via the ign sw, 5 fuses in fuse block 2 and also the injection relay. Basically it was a bad connection in the fuse holder and was I was continuously riding for about 4hrs and the heat just built up. Usually rides are only a couple of hrs. Going to remove all fuses now and spray DeoxIT.
